This 15 year old is made from malts matured in ex-sherry, ex-bourbon and new oak casks, brought together in the Glenfiddich Solera vat. This vat is kept at least half full to ensure a consistent product. The marrying process is completed by a settling period in smaller Solera tuns prior to bottling.
This Solera finishing technique was pioneered by Glenfiddich in 1998 to create this 15 Year Old whisky.
