Clear, golden amber.
Honeyed nose of well cooked toast spread with charred corn and tobacco with faint aromas of mashed ripe banana.
Spicy palate with vanilla oak, caramel, gingerbread and spicy mocca coffee.
Long grain rich finish with cracked black pepper and dry spicy oak.
(I was unable to try 8 year old and new 6 year old Blacks alongside each other but judging from my tasting notes I prefer this new younger model.)
