Launched in 1963 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Pampero, Anniversario is distilled in Venezuela from locally produced molasses. (It is shipped in bulk to Italy where it is bottled.) It has no age statement but is believed to be a blend of 4 to 6 year old rums aged in ex-bourbon casks.

The dumpy rounded bottle is presented in a tailored leather pouch embossed with the Pampero logo.

Appearance:

Clear, deep coppery amber.

Aroma:

Burnt fruit cake, treacle and molasses.

Taste:

Slightly sweet but rounded, elegant and mellow. Spicy oak and dried fruit with sweet demerara sugar, mocha coffee and vanilla. Nutmeg, cinnamon and gingerbread spice. (Some added sugar suspected.)

Aftertaste:

Long, lightly spiced mocha coffee and tobacco finish.
