This single barrel bottling uses rum distilled in El Dorado's four column French Savalle still to recreate to character of this previously forgotten mark.
Back in the day when each sugar cane plantation in Guyana had a distillery producing their own rum, a unique mark was used to identify the rum from each distillery. ICBU was the mark for the Dutch owned Uitvlught distillery.
Sampled on 08/11/2010
(Due to being a single barrel bottling these notes may not be representative of other bottles.)
Fresh crushed cane juice, Muscavardo sugar, golden syrup and overripe banana with a hint of varnish.
Characterful, dry light/medium.
Long finish sees spicier notes emerge.
