Warsteiner, pronounced 'var-stein-er', has been produced by the Cramer family since 1753 and their brewery is the largest privately owned in Germany. Warsteiner Premium Verum, a pilsner style beer, is their bestselling and flagship beer.

The Warsteiner slogan, "Eine Königin unter den Bieren" on each bottle, literally translates as "A Queen among the Beers", a reference to the queen's crown also featured in the label. (They should get together with Budwiser "the king of beers' - they'd make a lovely couple – well a couple anyway.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 14/07/2013

(best before 06-Nov-13) Clear, pale golden with thin white head.

One day old grass cuttings with floury malt and floral aromas.

Light bodied. Pale malty with clear apple juice sweetness and a light metallic-like note.

Dry, moderately malty finish. Quaffable.
