Inspired by the original East India Pale Ales brewed in England in the early 1800s, specially designed not to spoil during the long journey from London to Calcutta, using extra malt and hops including East Kent Golding. It has also undergone dry-hopping.
Sampled on 02/02/2012
Clear, coppery golden with moderate white head and lacing.
Fairly lightly hoped nose for an IPA with only mild resin and citrus aromas. Green apple skin with faint chocolate powder and struck matches.
Bitter sweet, lightly resinous and grapefruit zesty palate which sits on the more approachable side of IPAs.
Long, bitter finish with slight metallic note.
