Legendary Añejo is aged for four-to-six years in American oak casks and flavoured with the addition of small amounts of muscatel wine. The rum is then re-casked and rested in American oak barrels for 15 days before being gravity filtered through activated-carbon and silica sand prior to bottling.

This Cuban rum claims heritage dating back to 1946, with international distribution starting in 1950.

Appearance:

Clear (very slight haze - not bright), orangey golden amber.

Aroma:

Orange/apricot nose with toffee (a la toffee apple) orange blossom honey and ginger spice.

Taste:

Aggressively attention grabbing spicy palate with cigar tobacco and dry oak bitterness, smoky toffee, golden syrup and overripe tropical fruit and mandarin orange zestiness.

Aftertaste:

Dry, slightly tannic, orange zest and chewing tobacco finish.
