The website says, "Yang: in Chinese, noun, masculine, singular", it helpfully goes onto explain that 'yang' is "one of the fundamental principles of Chinese Taoist philosophy which basically corresponds to the principles of masculinity, movement and the fire element: the union of Ying and Yang."

The ying and yang in question here are green tea and cognac which have been brought together to make a light liqueur. It could also refer to the duo behind the creation of So Yang, Jacques Petit, a cognac producer who has been involved in his family business since 1986 and Claire Coates who comes from a cognac family and former Communications & Marketing Director for the BNIC (the cognac industry's regulatory and promotional body).
