Davna Bizon vodka is flavoured with Hierochloe Odorata grass, known by many as Bison grass due to its being hand-picked from the Eastern Polish forest of Białowieża where wild bison still roam. The name Davna (pronounced Dawna) means 'old-school/like it used to be/vintage' in Polish.

Incidentally the Polish wording at the foot of the label, 'Według legendy zapewnia siłe Oraz długowieczność', translates as 'According to legend, provides strength and durability'.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 25/09/2012

Appearance:

Clear, very slight greeny yellow tinge. (Lacks the blade of grass some other 'Bison' vodkas include).

Aroma:

Aromatic, herbal grassy, jasmine tea and light spice.

Taste:

Slightly sweet, herbal grassy palate with flaked almonds, lavender, cold jasmine tea, tobacco and delicate peppery spice.

Aftertaste:

Bittersweet stewed herbal tannins with gentle spice.
