Davna Bizon vodka is flavoured with Hierochloe Odorata grass, known by many as Bison grass due to its being hand-picked from the Eastern Polish forest of Białowieża where wild bison still roam. The name Davna (pronounced Dawna) means 'old-school/like it used to be/vintage' in Polish.

Incidentally the Polish wording at the foot of the label, 'Według legendy zapewnia siłe Oraz długowieczność', translates as 'According to legend, provides strength and durability'.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 21/05/2024

Appearance:

Clear, very slight greeny-yellow tinge. (It lacks the blade of grass, which some other 'Bison' vodkas include in their bottles.)

Aroma:

Aromatic, herbal grassy, jasmine tea and light spice.

Taste:

Slightly sweet, herbal and grassy with flaked almonds, lavender, cold jasmine tea, tobacco and delicate peppery spice.

Aftertaste:

Bittersweet stewed herbal tannins with gentle spice.

Overall:

Unlike lesser Bison Grass vodkas, Davna is bottled at the original 40% alc./vol..
