The River Stour flows close to this ginger flavoured ale’s home, the Hall & Woodhouse Brewery, so fittingly it honours the local fly-fishermen. They brave the bites of the infamous Blandford fly which plagues the area and use a fly like the one depicted on the bottle’s label to lure their pray.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 08/08/2012

Appearance:

Clear, coppery amber with thin off-white head.

Aroma:

Candied ginger, ginger biscuit and caramel fudge slice.

Taste:

Sweet ginger flavoured palate. Reminiscent of a ginger ale but without the ginger bite of a ginger beer. But then again I suppose it is a ginger ale? It’s certainly a gingery flavoured ale and perhaps is best served mixed with Scotch, as befits a ginger ale.

Aftertaste:

Ginger cake finish.
