Hollows Ginger Beer was a family recipe passed down to generations, traded at a local level until it became a commercial company in 1927 under the name Hollows & Co. It is brewed by fermenting herbs, sugar and brewer’s yeast with Chinese root ginger for two weeks and is free of hops, malts or wine.

Appearance:

Cloudy golden amber with some small brown particles. Slow moving large bubbles and no head.

Aroma:

Subdued earthy root ginger, hints of Christmas spice with pleasing yeastiness.

Taste:

Slightly sweet, earthy ginger with only moderate heat.

Aftertaste:

Earthy ginger but with little lasting heat.
