Lejay Lagoute use frozen blackberries from Europe, mainly Serbia as there is simply not enough fruit available in France. Frozen fruit is used due to its freshness and year-round supply. The fruit is steeped in alcohol and slow filtered only by gravity. It is balanced with 550g of sugar per litre.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 21/04/2014

Appearance:

Clear, very dark burgundy red.

Aroma:

Very aromatic and perfumed with violet and rose dominating blackberry aromas, like each berry is encased in a layer of old lady's soap.

Taste:

Palate explodes with perfumed fruit flavours. Very clean, rich blackberry with pronounced floral notes

Aftertaste:

Blackberry fruit tartness and strong lingering floral notes.
