Review and Tasting

Sampled on 29/09/2012

Appearance:

(Bottled 2012, released October 2012) Clear, deep teak with burnished bronze highlights.

Aroma:

Blackened raisony burnt fruit cake, dried chocolate, vinous amontillado sherry and subtle clove spice. Faint mint jelly and quince jam.

Taste:

Heavy and bitter sweet with robust but not overly tannic or dry old oak, Christmas pudding, prunes, figs and burnt toffee.

Aftertaste:

Long, burnt dried burnt and lingering mint jelly freshness. Unlike many other sherry whiskies, this takes a splash of water well.
