A single cask Speyside malt distilled in 1982 at Aultmore and aged 30 years in an American oak hogshead which yielded 272 bottles. One of 5 malts released by Wemyss in October 2012, each representing a different whisky region and named after flavours reminiscent of the whisky’s character.


Review and Tasting


Sampled on 27/10/2012

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden with burnished gold.

Aroma:

Sugared almonds (as promised by Charlie), chamois leather barley, marzipan, butterscotch and crusty pastry with faint salt and cinnamon spice.

Taste:

Initially slightly sweet before quickly turning subtly salty, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves and white pepper.

Aftertaste:

Salty leather, patisserie and cinnamon spice.
