Texels Stormbock is a seasonal, top-fermented, bottle fermented winter bock beer. It is brewed using dune-filtered water, four different kinds of roasted malted barleys, a number of specially selected varieties of hops and caramel.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 06/12/2010

Appearance:

Slightly cloudy, reddy-brown with a light brown head.

Aroma:

Liquorice, thick molasses, bitter chocolate and caramel.

Taste:

Full-bodied with heavily roasted maltiness, over baked chocolate cake, dry nutty notes and a touch of black strap molasses sweetness.

Aftertaste:

Slightly bitter with woody notes, bone dry nuts and bitter chocolate. Serious beer nerds will appreciate the brewers craft while lager louts will hate Stormbock.
