Cocchi Americano Rosa (pronounced: 'coke-ey ameri-kano) is a relatively modern variation of the better-known Cocchi Americano Bianco.
This rosé aperitif wine is based on a blend of two aromatic varietals, Brachetto and Malvasia from Italy's Piedmont region. These are fortified and then 'aromatised' by infusing with botanicals including gentian, cinchona and citrus zest as in the classic bianco version, but with the addition of ginger and rose petals.
Serve with soda or tonic and a grapefruit zest twist. The producers also recommend serving with their sparkling Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG.
