Berryshka is a Slovenian family-run distillery operated by Jože Kenda and his son Samo. The company was established in the mid 1990s, originally for the production of essential oils with spirit and liqueur production commencing in 2009.

The distillery marketing material talks of many its recipes first being concocted within the stone walls of the Devil's Tower in Dolenjska, a 17th century Tower near to the Berryshka distillery. The water used at the distillery originates from rain falling on Slovenia’s Kočevski rog, the largest primeval forest in Central Europe.

Appearance:

Slight haze, deep plum red.

Aroma:

Blueberry, eucalyptus, raw pastry, vanilla and caramel with faint herbal and blue cheese notes.

Taste:

Sweet with a soft mouthfeel, good clean blueberry flavour, enlivened with cinnamon and clove spice.

Aftertaste:

Rich blueberry, clove and cinnamon spice. Fades with faint Roquefort cheese notes.
