Launched in late 2014, Andean edition is the third and final limited edition in elit's Pristine Water Series, exploring how the water source can have an impact on the salinity and flavour of vodka. For each of the editions, Stolichnaya's blenders searched for...

the most exquisite water sources from which to craft the ultimate limited-edition vodka. In 2014, they trekked to the crystal clear waters of Colico Lake in the La Araucanía Region of Chile, to a natural spring flowing from the foothills of the Andes Mountains. This water was added to elit's Russian Alpha Spirit to create the final vodka in this series.

This limited edition vodka comes in a hand-cut Glencairn Crystal bottle sealed with a silver medallion overlaid with gold and crowned with a ruby depicting the elit by Stolichnaya flame. The bottle is presented in a leather lined Chilean Black Cherry wood case embellished with an indigenous pattern local to Colico Lake.

A limited release of 250 bottles globally.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 09/03/2015

Appearance:

Crystal clear

Aroma:

Faint bready – lightly toasted, white and black pepper.

Taste:

Faintly sweet brown bread, cracked black pepper spice and slight saltiness.

Aftertaste:

Lightly salty - Himalayan Black Salt, cracked black pepper with faint grain character. Overall: A delicate, very attractive and moreish saltiness combined with cleansing black pepper sets this vodka apart. Bring on the salt and pepper squid!
