Distilled from heavily peated malt in May 1993 and bottled in June 2008, this single cask strength whisky was matured for 15 years in an American oak puncheon number 3Q70047 at the Omi Aging Cellar.
Sampled on 01/09/2009
(bottle number 343 of a total production of 473 bottles.)
Smoky and peaty but yet strangely sweet and fruity with hints of apricot and lemon zest.
The palate is also honeyed, almost waxy with fresh smoke from a stable fire blowing over the whole experience.
Easier than the nose might suggest.
