Review and Tasting

Sampled on 03/01/2016

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Toasty freshly sawn old oak, new leather, vanilla, light cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Faint dark chocolate and wisps of smoke. Water amplifies wood smoke.

Taste:

Rich and mellow with sweet ripe red apple. Charcoal and toasty oak emerges as it develops with vanilla, light cinnamon and nutmeg spice, faint wood smoke and liquorice. Sweeter and faintly buttery with a splash of water.

Aftertaste:

While still subtle, wood smoke is more obvious in the long finish.

Overall:

Full-bodied and pleasingly characterful with dry oak, light spice and faint wood smoke perfectly balanced by sweet ripe apple and vanilla.
