Produced by the Vergnano Family at Torino Distillati in Moncalieri, Italy, Malfy Gin is distilled with juniper, coriander, lemon peels and four other unspecified botanicals. Peels from lemons grown on Italy's Amalfi Coast are steeped in alcohol (made from Italian grain) and then pressed in a...
traditional basket press, this lemon infusion along with the other botanicals is then distilled in a low temperature (vacuum) still.

Crystal clear.
Pungent creamy lemon curd and lemon zest with white pepper, clean hamster cage bedding and very faint ginger. Juniper is very subdued.
There's a creaminess to this gin's mouthfeel, which like the nose is dominated by upfront zesty lemon and peppery spice. Again juniper notes are somewhat overwhelmed.
Peppery and piney juniper does emerge more in the zesty lemon finish.
As the name suggests, creamy lemon curd and lemon zest dominate this gin to the extent that it is perhaps more a lemon distillate with other subtle botanical influences than it is, strictly speaking a gin. Hence, our categorising as a 'new western gin'. However, Malfy's lemon freshness does make this an appealing distillate.
