One of three alcoholic sodas launched in 2017, Crooked Beverage sodas feature a malt ferment and are made using “real fruit juice” (2% peach juice from concentrate) and natural flavours and colourings. This peach and pomegranate flavoured soda contains 4.62g sugar/100ml (46.2g/ltr).

Appearance:

(sample can BBE Nov/19) Hazy, salmon/rust red with carbonation producing a thin white head.

Aroma:

Peach jam, boiled sweets (hard candy) and zesty pink grapefruit.

Taste:

High carbonation and citric acidity partially balance light sweet jammy/candied peach and less prevalent pomegranate.

Aftertaste:

Citrus acidity and candied peach.

Overall:

With a name reminiscent of a hippy/eco-warrior, this designer alco-pop, sorry “alcoholic soda”, contains around 4.5% sugar and has a predominantly candied peach flavour.
