Released November 2019, this limited-edition Aberfeldy first spends 15 years in a combination of bourbon re-fill and re-char casks before finishing for around 4-5 months in French oak casks previously used to age Pomerol Bordeaux wine.

"Pomerol is the smallest of all the major Bordeaux wine-producing appellations and home to some of the most expensive, sought after wines in the world. The best vineyards are planted on a seam of blue clay which extends across the raised plateau of Pomerol itself and it's the only wine-producing region in the world with a large concentration of this clay in its soils. The wine is known for being refined yet intense, with sensual notes of violet, red berries, truffles, and game."

Appearance:

Clear, mid-golden amber.

Aroma:

Honey, clove, vanilla, cinnamon, ripe pear, strawberry, green apple and mint. Water amplifies malty red wine.

Taste:

Medium-bodied. Dry tannins and dry oak are balanced by creamy vanilla and honeyed maltiness with note quite ripe apricot, blueberry and green apple. Drier and spicier with water as honeyed notes are overwhelmed.

Aftertaste:

Spiced malty finish which fades with orchard and berry fruits, bitter tannins and barbeque charcoal.

Overall:

Vinous tannins balanced by creamy vanilla and honeyed maltiness with delicate clove spice, stone and berry fruits.
