Beermouth is a boundary-pushing product that as the name suggests flavours a fortified beer with the herbs and spices usually associated with vermouth.

Beermouth is the creation of beer maker Teo Musso and the experimental minds of Dennis Zoppi and Giacomo Donadio.

Beermouth is designed to be enjoyed "on its own or at the end of a meal... And mixed in a cocktail!" "Try and serve it in a 30 ml glass with classic Indian tonic water: 1/3 Beermouth + 2/3 tonic water + ice."

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/09/2020

Appearance:

Slight haze, deep amber. [sample bot lot B002]

Aroma:

Herbal with light spice and faint balsamic.

Taste:

Bittersweet with assertive herbal notes including wormwood. Freshened by Christmassy spice and citrus.

Aftertaste:

Long, moderately bitter acidic fishing with lingering herbal flavours.

Overall:

I love the experimental thought process that created Beermouth but sadly it will only appeal to a niche audience.
