This ‘Heritage’ bottling of Bacardi Superior is a replica of an original bottle from 1909 and only 7,500 cases were made for the first release in 2010 to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Daiquiri leaving Cuba with US Admiral Lucius Johnson.
The bottle retains many authentic features such as: the original medals from Paris, Buffalo, Charleston and St. Louis; cork-style closure, original alcohol strength and the traditional air space in the neck, which apparently allowed the rum to expand when it was shipped in hot climates. One of the most obvious changes over the past 100 years when compared to a modern bottle is that all the text on the replica is in Spanish. “Ron Superior de Bacardi y Cia. Casa establecida en 1862 en Santiago de Cuba.” It is presented in a hinged wooden box.

The higher strength appears to make this tighter and more integrated mushroom-like notes.
Muscovado sugar, spiced apples, pears with a dusting of spicy cinnamon.
