Sipello is a British-made aperitif liqueur flavoured with a blend of gooseberry-led British ingredients, such as rhubarb and chuckleberry, combined with sustainably sourced botanicals from around the world.
Botanicals, including sandalwood, gentian and wormwood, are hand-picked, wild-harvested, and possible to certify, organic.
With most of the ingredients infused or macerated in alcohol separately, Sipello takes four weeks to make.
Sipello is described by its makers as being fruit-forward aperitif with a long bitter finish.

Hazy, crimson red.
Vibrantly floral potpourri, somewhat reminiscent of a posh bar of soap with green fern, gooseberry, hibiscus, and strawberry.
On the bitter side of bittersweet. Gooseberry fruit, hibiscus, elderflower, dandelion, chamomile, and raspberry.
Bittersweet with raspberry and pine.
Sipello is a good name and this British aperitif liqueur is presented in a shapely heavyweight bottle. The liquid's hazy appearance is disappointing and hopefully, filtration will improve in future batches (sample from batch #1). The palate is assertively bitter and it's telling that the brand's signature serve (a Spritz with equal parts champagne and elderflower liqueur) calls for a whole shot of liqueur to balance. I'd like to see more sugar in the Sipello and slightly less elderflower liqueur. I very much like Sipello but it could be polished.
