SW4 is made using 12 botanicals: juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica, cinnamon, orange peel, orris powder, nutmeg, savory, cassia, almond, lemon peel and liquorice. The name plays on that fact it is distilled by Thames Distillers in Clapham, London, which has a postcode of SW4.

SW4 London Dry Gin is the brainchild of Martin Price, a former marketing director of the UK drinks distributor, Maxxium.

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Angelica root’s musky, nutty, damp wood, mushroom aromas are very evident on the nose.

Taste:

Fresh pine forest juniper plays a leading role dry, slightly bitter, peppery spiced palate with lavender and camphor. Orris root’s parma violet and cold stewed tea with citrusy lemon peel.

Aftertaste:

Dry, woody pine finish with lingering orris notes.
