Élixir Végétal de la Grande Chartreuse is the original tonic (elixir of life) first created by Brother Antoine in 1764, accordingly it is classified as a pharmaceutical product in France. Take by dripping five drops on a sugar cube or in a little sugared water, or add a few dashes to hot chocolate.

Appearance:
Clear, khaki green with forest green flecks.
Aroma:
Candied angelica, eucalyptus, liquorice, tobacco leaf, freshly cut grass and mint leaves with ginger cake, spruce needles and cracked black pepper spirit.
Taste:
Strong in alcohol and equally strong in flavour with herbaceous, rootyness with peppermint, ginger, fresh vegetal flavours with hints of lemon, aniseed and tobacco.
Aftertaste:
Lingering bitter root flavours with lingering crushed peppermint leaf.
