Review and Tasting

Sampled on 23/12/2015

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden amber.

Aroma:

Pronounced lightly smoky peat, hospital antiseptic, biscuit, walnuts, toasted almond and vanilla. Water reveals attractive red apple fruit and toasty oak.

Taste:

Smoky earthy peat, charcoal, clove and black pepper spice with faint star anise and aniseed. Faint zesty orange and overripe pineapple. Takes water well.

Aftertaste:

Long, smoky, cracked black pepper and chargrilled meat with lingering clove, black pepper spice and salt.

Overall:

Classic Islay - smoky peat, charcoal and hospital antiseptic with clove, black pepper spice and salt. Faint fruity notes – red apple on the nose progressing to orange and pineapple on the palate.
