Part of the Glengoyne core range, this unpeated Highland malt is aged in 30-40% first-fill sherry oak with the balance being refill sherry oak.
Sampled on 07/10/2012
Clear, mid golden amber with bright gold highlights.
Christmas pudding fruitness and stewed pineapple with nutty sherry, honeyed grassy malt with new wardrobe oak/cedar wood and faint apple fruit and nectarine skin.
Honeyed oaky palate with rich barley water, grilled brazil nut, walnut husk, apple and pear salad, popcorn, rolling tobacco and mild spice.
Red berry fruit emerges on a long slightly waxy, walnut husk finish with cream of soda vanilla, bitter cocoa and delicate cinnamon and clove spice. A brilliantly balanced, easy drinking dram.
