Review and Tasting

Sampled on 23/08/2014

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber with coppery tones.

Aroma:

Pungent sherry, dried fruit and boiled sweets with faint charcoal and toffee apple. Very light spice, ripe plum, toasted walnut and faint flamed orange zest. Water reveals green apple skin and vanilla.

Taste:

Wonderfully rich dried fruit and apricot jam with balancing Christmassy spice, dry oak/sandalwood and earthy nuttiness. Notes of cacao, especially with water. Takes water well.

Aftertaste:

Burnt fruitcake and warming spice with apricot jam.
