Review and Tasting

Sampled on 07/11/2015

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden with streams of fast moving small bubbles.

Aroma:

Ripe green apple with zesty lemon and faint honeysuckle blossom.

Taste:

Dry but not bone dry with lemon zesty acidity balancing faint honeyed sweetness. Flavours of apple with lemon and faint elderflower.

Aftertaste:

Lingering acidity with not quite ripe apple and zesty lemon.

Overall:

Piccini 1882 perhaps lacks some finesse and complexity but is a good dry sparkling wine that represents excellent value for money and is widely available in British supermarkets.
