Glencadam Distillery is located about half a mile outside the ancient city and former Royal Burgh of Brechin in Angus in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. The distiller sits between Brechin City football club and a cemetery.

Brechin was once a walled city and during the Middle Ages was a seat for religion and learning with Brechin Cathedral founded in the 13th century. Considered a city by some due to the cathedral, Brechin is the Episcopal seat of the Scottish Episcopal Church.
