Jim Beam was given its name in 1933 after Colonel James B. Beam, who rebuilt the business following prohibition. This straight bourbon claims to be distilled to the same formula since 1795 when Jacob Beam (who changed his name from Boehm) a German immigrant began distilling whiskey.
