See more Kölsch (Köln Ales)
Küppers was originally brewed near Düsseldorf, but the family which owns the beer opened a brewery in Cologne in the 1960's and moved Kölsch production to the new facility. Brewed with both hops and hop extract.
Sampled on 12/12/2011
Clear, light golden with moderate head which quickly faded to thin foam.
Biscuity malty nose with honey, caramel, vanilla, faint citrus and peppery hop aromas.
Crisp, dry palate with good maltyness and pronounced grapefruit hop bitterness and faint balancing sweetness.
Long malty finish with lingering zesty hop bitterness.
