This Norwegian vodka is distilled using a six-column process from potatoes grown in Trondelag, then filtered first through charcoal and second using an air filtration process. It is named after King Christian IV of Norway (reigned 1588-1648) - it's not clear if he was a vodka fan.
Sampled on 15/12/2011
Crystal clear
Subdued, very clean nose emitting the merest of whiffs of school dinner hall.
Light, almost creamy palate features mild black pepper spice with faint but discernible buttery potato.
Long, clean, cracked black pepper finish with faint steamed asparagus.
