Produced by Marnier Lapostolle, better known for Grand Marnier, the quality of this pineau is made possible by the house's huge cognac reserves, base in the heart of the cognac region (Château de Bourg-Charente) and management of casks, which starts by the company purchasing oak trees.

Produced by blending partially fermented grape juice with lightly aged cognac and then maturing the blend in oak casks for at least three years.

Sampled on 27/03/2012

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden yellow.

Aroma:

Honey, prune and pear fruit, cinnamon, almond and citrus fruit.

Taste:

Lightly cinnamon spiced with the merest hint of balanced sweetness. Fabulously complex with rich grape and cognac flavours, notes of apricot jam, prunes and loose leaf tobacco.

Aftertaste:

Mild, fairly short finish with more floral notes emerging.
