See more Belgium strong pale ales
The Belgian strong ale is distinctive due to its paper-wrapped bottle. It is also one of the few beers produced by De Proef which the brewery owns. De Proef more usually brews for third-party brand owners who do not have their own brewing capacity.
Sampled on 16/04/2012
Hazy, rusty orange amber with medium off-white head leaving moderate lacing.
Pungent, floral yeasty bread nose with caramel.
Slightly sweet honey and caramel malty palate with yeast and sultana fruit.
Bready malty finish with chamois leather, faint banana and lingering peppery spice.
