Pronounced ‘lam-i-ti-ay’, and meaning friendship in French, this unaged rum is distilled from fermented molasses using a 3 column distillation process. It is made at the Grays distillery, which was founded in 1931 under the name of Mauritius OK Distillery Co. and belongs to the group Harel Frères.

Appearance:

Clear, transparent.

Aroma:

Hints of stinky sulphur and bad eggs obscure creamy mashed potato and light black pepper.

Taste:

Initially sweet, light bodied with subtle notes of brown sugar, caramel and toffee.

Aftertaste:

Slightly bitter with lingering black pepper and caramel.
