Squires Gin is named after Squire Thomas Pope of Dorset and was originally made by his descendants, the Pope of Eldridge Pope Brewery in Dorchester, England. Whitbread acquired the brand which is now distilled by Thames Distillers, bottled by Invergordon and sold by Waverly TBS as a value brand.
Sampled on 14/07/2012
Clear, transparent.
Classic juniper, coriander and angelica nose with lemon zest and parma violets (perhaps orris root).
Juniper comes to the fore backed by classic London dry flavours but perhaps a tad heavy on the angelica root. Little perceptible citrus.
Disappointing bitter, rooty finish.
