Review and Tasting

Sampled on 30/08/2012

Appearance:

(best before 31-Dec-13) Opaque pitch black with a small, quickly disappearing, tan head.

Aroma:

Espresso coffee, burnt toast and roasted nuts with liquorice and bourbon-like spirit notes.

Taste:

Heavily roasted-slightly burnt malts, slight smokiness and bitter stewed coffee with pronounced whisky character.

Aftertaste:

Burnt toast/charcoal finish with lingering bitter espresso and whisky. Imperial Stout devotees will admire while most will find unpalatably powerful.
