This European style pale lager was first in Rotterdam’s eponymously named brewery in 1671. Oranjeboom which translates as ‘Orange Tree’ (symbolising the Dutch Royal Family tree) is now produced under license at 4 different sites around the world including Germany, the UK and New Zealand.

The original Oranjeboom Brewery closed in 1990 when production moved to the Breda brewery. This in turn was sold to Interbrew in 1995 and closed by InBev, Interbrew's successor in 2004. Production then moved to the Dommelsch brewery (founded 1744) where different production techniques and ingredients are used.

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden with a thin but lasting white head and moderate lacing.

Aroma:

Bready malt with light grassy hops and slight metallic note.

Taste:

Hay, bready malt and caramel with cut grass, lemongrass and slight metallic lemon citrus.

Aftertaste:

Stale banquette crust and grassy hops.
