Sibling to the 25 years old Gulden Draak, this quadruple Belgian-style strong pale ale is made using four times the amount of malt as would be usual and three different types of malt. It’s a high fermentation beer with secondary fermenting using wine yeast.
Sampled on 29/10/2012
(best before 12-Mar-14) Clear, deep coppery amber with medium thick off-white head.
Muscovado sugar, honeycomb and overripe banana, cassis and tropical fruit.
Sweet, full-bodied, creamy palate with sweet dark red berries, sultanas and spirity alcohol notes.
Long, malty spirity finish.
