Core Vodka is produced on a third generation apple farm in New York State's Hudson Valley. It is distilled three times in a Christian Carl pot still topped with a short column from cold pressed apples (cores and all) and not just pressed juice.

Harvest Spirits make their alcohol from apples grown on their own farm and are one of the few vodka producers, large or small to make their own base alcohol rather than buying in third-party industrially produced neutral spirit.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 16/03/2013

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Cooked apple juice with faint caramel and apple pie notes.

Taste:

This made from apples rather than an apple flavoured vodka so apple notes are faint but present with cooked apples – apple pie filling, cream-soda like notes and cleansing cracked black pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Faint note of apples with more cream-soda and pepper spice. (Previously we've tried a Vodktini and found Core to produce a both pleasing and interesting cocktail).
