The first bottled Ouzo and still the world’s bestselling brand, Ouzo 12 was first produced by the Kaloyannis brothers in 1880 at their distillery in Constantinople, now Istanbul. After experimentation they decided the blend in cask number twelve should become their house style, hence the name.

In 1999, Ouzo 12 became part of the Gruppo Campari brand stable. Ouzo 12 is made by double distilling grape alcohol with anise, cardamom, cinnamon, coriander and nutmeg.
