Review and Tasting

Sampled on 25/10/2018

Appearance:

Clear, mid golden amber.

Aroma:

Dried fruit, slightly burnt fruitcake, boiled sweets (hard candy), baked apple, nubuck leather and crème anglaise with some candle wax.

Taste:

Slight sweetness and creamy vanilla balanced by dry oak, citrus zest and charred malt. Chargrilled pineapple, ginger, clove and cinnamon spice. Water softens but changes little.

Aftertaste:

Liquorice features heavily on the long almond and coal dust.

Overall:

A big spicy malt with dry burnt notes, liquorice and chargrilled pineapple.
