As the name suggests this vodka is produced using Fair Trade-certified ingredients and is the world's first Fair Trade certified vodka. It is the brainchild of two "young idealistic Frenchmen" (their words) Jean-François Daniel and Alexandre Koiransky.

Fair Vodka is made using grain from the Quinoa plant which has been cultivated by the Incas since the 13th century in the Andes mountains range. The quinoa grain used is the Golden variety cultivated at 14,000 - 16,000ft by over 1,200 small producers in the Bolivian Altiplano and gathered within the Anapqui cooperative, the main association of farming producers in the country.

The quinoa grain is shipped to France where it is fermented and distilled in Cognac using a column still before being mixed with a neutral spirit distilled from French wheat. The blend is hydrated to bottling strength and bottled without the addition of sugar.
