Launched in August 2015, Slingsby is made with water from the Harrogate, indeed this gin is named after William Slingsby, who in 1571 discovered the unique properties of the natural spring water from Tewit Well, so turning Harrogate into a spar town attracting visitors to partake the waters.
Slingsby is distilled with 24 botanicals, 17 of which are grown in Harrogate’s Rudding Park Hotel Kitchen garden. These include: Primrose, Severn Sea Rosemary, Silver Posie Thyme, Citrus Thyme, Garden Thyme, Rhubarb, Sage, Lovage, Chervil, Nettle and Sweet Cicely. Green and jasmine tea is sourced from Taylors of Harrogate. These are combined with seven more traditional international botanicals: angelica, cassia, orris root, coriander, liquorice, grapefruit and of course Madagascan juniper.
Slingsby gin is presented in a bespoke squat blue bottle produced near Harrogate.
