Review and Tasting

Sampled on 09/06/2016

Appearance:

(sample bottle batch 1, bottle 24/50, 2016) Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Balasa wood, overripe banana, cashew nuts, chamois leather/freshly baked scones and piney juniper with black pepper spice, orange zest, fruit cake and faint green apple.

Taste:

Sultana, fruitcake, piney juniper, black pepper spice, cut grass and orange oil. As with the nose, juniper is also presented with attractive overripe banana notes.

Aftertaste:

Nutty, piney, black pepper spiced finish.

Overall:

One of those unusual gins where juniper is presented with overripe banana notes alongside the more usual pine flavours. Softwood, nutty and new leather notes (we suspect from generous use of angelica root) soften and round this gin which also has faint sultana/fruitcake notes.
