Until around 1900 only green glass could be produced in volume, so Gordon's green and white colour palette had remained effectively unchanged. The clear bottle and yellow 'export' label was created in celebration of a large, prestigious Australian export order placed in 1907.
Contrary to popular belief, it is only the bottle and the strength that differ from the regular Gordon's gin: the same recipe of botanicals is used to produce both labels.
Gordon's is made at a number of different sites around the world and the strength and label design varies slightly according to market. The bottle pictured and sampled here is labelled "Distilled in Great Britain".

Appearance:
Clear, transparent.
Aroma:
Pine, lavender and camphor from juniper dominate with lemon zest and black pepper.

The flavours found in Gordon's are amplified by strength. The juniper-led palate features spicy, lemon zest notes and a peppery edge, while rooty notes combine with fresh peppermint, zingy lemon zest and a touch of liquorice and white pepper.

Piney juniper and candied lemon zest.
